  • Bio & Profile
The Ocean Band are a Singapore-based band who, having exhausted almost every covers playing club in the country and their own collective patience, have moved on to playing and recording their own music.
Since their formation in 2003, they have been the house band at The Crazy Elephant (Singapore's leading blues bar), visited Holland and France for a mini-tour and opened for the chart-topping American band Hoobastank in '04. In November '05, they represented Singapore in the finals of the World Battle Of The Bands in Hong Kong. 2006 saw them on the main stage of the Sembawang Festival back in Singapore and, shortly afterwards, in the Esplanade Concert Hall (making it their fifth appearance at the Esplanade).
Their debut album 'BARCODES' has received enthusiastic reviews in the press and the band are currently working on their second full length record. The band's music is the result of such diverse influences as Pearl Jam, Jeff Buckley, Police, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Max Webster (for just one member, it must be said) et al. The Ocean Band has always been at its best on stage and have played several hundred gigs in Singapore and overseas, to uniformly excellent response.
